“Assessment of migrants’ language and culture - The Russian way”


 

BIODATA

Anzhela is the author of a raft of articles and monographs devoted to the problems of migration, language tests for integration purposes and the Integration Exam in Russia. She is the Executive Secretary of the Russian Testing Consortium, the Head of the Methodological Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. She also coordinates the development of the Testing System of Russian as a Foreign Language and the new language exams introduction. Anzhela supervises RUDN University projects promoting the Russian language abroad.


 

ABSRTACT

Russia has over 3,000 migrants, of all ages and levels of society, mainly from South Eastern Europe and Asia and RUDN University, as Russia’s leading international university, has been given responsibility by the Russian Government for helping to integrate them into Russian society by developing training materials and progress assessment tools.

In this presentation Professor Dolzhikova explains the materials and methods of assessment she and her team have developed, the principles behind their use in training and their impact on the successful integration of migrants into Russian society.
