Tools for Teaching Language Skills in a Post-Pandemic Scenario

Mikaela Amelini (Argentina)

Abstract

One of the biggest challenges teachers face in a post-pandemic scenario is creating high-quality yet relevant language learning experiences for students. In order to meet this challenge, educators must unlearn and relearn different skills that are essential in the post-pandemic scenario. Among these skills are team building, digital literacy, effective feedback, and feedforward. Team building is crucial in a collaborative learning environment as it helps to build trust and promote a sense of community among students. Digital literacy is another important skill that teachers must develop and incorporate as part of their lessons. Effective feedback and feedforward are also essential skills that teachers must possess. Feedback helps to identify areas of improvement for students, while feedforward helps to set goals and provide guidance for future learning. By incorporating digital tools and resources such as Google Jamboard, Padlet, and Miro, teachers can facilitate group projects and discussions and promote active learning through online games, quizzes, and interactive activities. The speaker will offer practical examples of effective collaborative activities and highlight best practices for integrating technology into language teaching.
