Elena Mizrahi (Israel)
Abstract
The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) education presents a transformative opportunity to enhance teaching methodologies and learning outcomes. This workshop aims to explore the cutting-edge intersection of AI technology and language learning, offering EFL educators an overview of AI tools and their practical applications in the classroom.
Key objectives include:
• Gaining practical skills in integrating AI technology into EFL curriculum design and instruction (with MagicSchool).
• Exploring some AI tools and platforms that facilitate the receptive and productive language skills of EFL learners (in particular, Gamma app and Brisk Chrome extension)
• Discussing best practices in the use of AI in the EFL classroom.
Participants will be introduced to a selection of cutting-edge AI applications that have been carefully chosen for their applicability and impact in EFL classrooms. This hands-on session aims to demonstrate how these tools can be integrated into language learning environments to improve engagement, personalize learning experiences, and optimize teaching methodologies. Attendees will engage with real-world case studies showcasing successful integration of AI in EFL settings, highlighting the benefits and challenges of such approaches. The workshop will also offer hands-on training in implementing AI tools, enabling educators to tailor instruction to meet the diverse needs of their learners.
By the end of this workshop, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to incorporate AI into their teaching practices, thereby enhancing the engagement, motivation, and achievement of EFL students in the digital age.
