Teacher Training

The ICC Board is pleased to announce a 30-hour online course which is “An Introduction to Teaching Languages Online”. The programme is spread over four weeks:

AN INTRODUCTION TO TEACHING LANGUAGES ONLINE

4-week course (30 hours)

Two sessions (16 hours) live with a tutor (14 hours assignment and self-study)

Dates Round 2: 29th May to 26th June 2021

The transition from face-to-face to online teaching and learning has brought many issues and questions to many educators all around the world. For that reason, becoming digitally aware is a must!

Teachers with a qualification in Online Teaching will be in demand!

The Aims of the Course

This short training programme is designed for all teachers and trainers who would like to acquire new skills and gain experience in online teaching. In essence, the actual teaching has not completely changed, but the internet offers new possibilities to enable teachers to enrich their lessons and to help learners overcome the problems of learning by themselves in front of their screens. In this course, teachers will learn how to transfer their teaching skills to the online environment.

At the end of the course teachers will receive the ICC Online Teaching Certificate.

This course will be offered on a regular basis as there will continue to be a need for online language courses even after the present-day situation has passed. For example, university authorities are already planning so-called “hybrid semesters”; business professionals are discovering the flexibility of being able to acquire new skills online, and many language experts agree that language teaching does not actually need to be 100% face-to-face.

Therefore, gaining the necessary knowledge and skills will certainly offer all teachers and trainers the opportunity to share and guide others in the new remote learning world.

Who is the course for?

The course is for all language teachers who would like to transfer their face-to-face teaching skills to an online context.

What will you achieve by the end of the course?

  • You will develop the key skills needed to enable you to plan and deliver online lessons.
  • You will be able to adapt the face-to-face teaching skills you already have to the online environment.
  • You will be able to use technology with confidence in your classrooms.

Quotes from participants attending the course:

“The course was extremely interactive, useful, interesting, motivating and professional. I’m very grateful for the opportunity…”
Shainaz Bugglé, France

“The course timing was perfect in my case. I could already use the materials during a session in Germany linked to a company in Finland and their feedback was absolutely positive. The group dynamics on the course in Pilsen were exceptional and Barry has a great personality. I have hardly ever learnt so much within such a short time on a theoretical, practical and interpersonal/ emotional level.”
Birgit Griese, Finland
