Dr Sviatlana Karpava is an Assistant Professor in Applied Linguistics and Multilingualism and serves as the Coordinator of the MA in TESOL programme at the Department of English Studies, University of Cyprus. She is also the Co-Director of the Discourse, Context and Society Lab and the Testing, Teaching and Translation Lab. Additionally, she holds the role of National Coordinator for the COST Innovators Grant (CIG): IG18123 and serves as the Chair of the Cyprus Teachers of English Association. Dr Karpava is an editor of both the English as a Foreign Language International Journal and the MEXTESOL Journal. Her research focuses on applied linguistics, second and third language acquisition, bilingualism, multilingualism, sociolinguistics, teaching, and education. Ms Maria Georgiou is a PhD student, Department of English Studies, University of Cyprus. Her topic focuses on Artificial Intelligence and its applications in language teaching and learning. Currently, she is teaching the modules of English Language 1, English Language 2, English for Academic Purposes, Study and Research Skills, and Practical TESOL at UCLan Cyprus.
