Expanding the ICC Network: Munster Technological University Joins as New Institutional Member

The ICC is pleased to announce that Munster Technological University (MTU), Ireland, has joined the association as its newest institutional member. The announcement was made during the Annual General Meeting held in the framework of the 32nd ICC Annual Conference, which took place in Larnaka, Cyprus, from 9 to 11 May 2025. On this occasion, ICC Co-Chairs Myriam Fischer and Tatjana Kovac formally welcomed Dr Kristin Brogan, who represented MTU at the event.

MTU is a multi-campus technological university with six locations across Cork and Kerry, serving over 18,000 students. As a regional leader in higher education, MTU offers a broad range of academic programmes that combine applied research, innovation, and a strong focus on developing global and intercultural competencies. Its work in the areas of intercultural communication, internationalisation, and professional development aligns closely with the ICC’s mission to foster quality and diversity in language and communication education.

Through its membership, MTU joins a vibrant international network committed to excellence in foreign language learning, teacher training, and intercultural understanding. The ICC views this partnership as an opportunity to deepen international cooperation, promote inclusive learning practices, and enhance the professional exchange between institutions around the world.

The ICC currently brings together members from over 14 countries and supports its community through a wide range of activities, including the EUROLTA teacher training programme, quality assurance tools, international conferences, and collaborative projects.
